Writing Wednesday | Prompt 57

How's everyone's week going? I'm getting lots of things done so far. I've finished The Broken Curse. I've gotten The Last Legacy workshopped by my class and teacher. I'm finishing For The Love of Ash! So many works in progress. But I refuse to be overwhelmed. So, let's get to writing!

Prompt Fifty-Seven- Dialogue 2.0

This one is going to be awesome. Write a prompt using dialogue only. No tags, no descriptions, no nothing! Just dialogue. I can't wait to see. Don't forget to post yours in the comments. 

My response...

"Why would you do this?"

"I didn't mean to hurt you, Kevin. I never meant any of this to happen."

"But it did! You did this to us."

"You weren't around. He was."

"Really? So, you're putting this on me?”

“No. But you can’t pretend that you didn’t see it coming.”

“You fucked my brother! I was supposed to expect that?”

“No! God, I can’t do this.”

“Fucking speak! Quit sugar coating everything and act like a grown woman. Why. Did. You. Do. This?”

“There’s not a solid reason.”

“I’d come up with one fast, then.”

“You were gone so much, Kevin. Grad school was taking over your life. And I was living at your house. Gavin was there all of the time. It just happened. He comforted me, kept the lonliness away.”

“So you cheated on me because you were lonely?”

“No. Well, yes. But it was more because he was there, present. You were gone.”

“Oh, so it doesn’t even matter that he’s my brother. You just fucked the closest guy to you, because he was there.”

“This isn’t coming out right.”

“Damn, straight. You sound like a whore.”

“She’s not a whore!”

“Stay out of this, brother.”

“I’m in this just as much as you.”

“Well, you were certainty in my fiancé.”

“Quit being a prick.”

“Then quit speaking for her. She needs to explain why she fucked me over.”

“She doesn’t have to explain anything.”

“Are you kidding me? You wouldn’t give a shit if your fiancé was cheating on you. Of course not. Because you're fucking Gavin. You don’t give a flying shit about anyone but yourself. And my smart, beautiful fiancé fell for your bullshit. That’s the worst part. You're just like all the other girls he plays with.”

“Im not playing with her.”

“Really? You didn’t bring her take out, watch movies and snuggle?”

“Oh god.”

“Exactly. He played you, Maggie. And you just screwed up the best thing to ever happen to you.”

“Don’t leave me.”

“You left me when you cheated.”

“Please…”

“Let him go, Mags.”

“Get off me!”

“You and I both know what we have was real.”

“What he just said…you did that! You did what you do to all the other girls.”

“But with you it was different.”

“I don’t believe you.”

“Don’t leave me, too. I won’t survive.”

“I just need time.”
