Writing Wednesday | Prompt 29

I'm not going to lie. I ALMOST forgot that it was Wednesday. My day is all discombobulated. Never fear, I'm here now and we are going to prompt. I've been doing so much work on my novels and in case you missed my latest teaser, I dropped a little hint on my next novel Wingless, which comes out this summer. Check it out in the post below!


Prompt Twenty-Nine- Break Up Letter

I LOVE THIS ONE. I found it at writersdigest.com. Your prompt is to write a break up letter to Writer's Block. Start with, "Dear Writer's Block, It's not you, it's me." I know we can all channel some hate for our dear friend who annoys us. Letter format, no word count or time. Have fun!

My Response...

Dear Writer's Block,

It's not you, it's me. It is time for us to part ways. I cannot handle your neediness any longer and therefore, we are through. I would appreciate it greatly if you would pack your belongings and move far, far away. I know this may sound harsh, but I wish to never see you again.

I have tried to get over you and move on. I have tried to look past your nagging ways, but you are too overbearing. I need space to grow. I have deadlines I have to meet and you're holding me back. I have to spread my wings, without you.

I'm tired of my thoughts being consumed by you. I'm constantly worried that you're going to pop up and take over me. I'm paranoid that your return could come at any moment. When we are together, I feel nothing but hatred. You presence alone makes me wish I never met you.

Sometimes I lay in bed at night and wonder what I did to deserve such torture as knowing you. Sometimes when I start to write, but can't, I wonder why you are doing this to me. Do you hate me this much? You must be able to see the discomfort you bring.

So with that said, your time with me has long expired. It is time for us to part. It is time for us to cut ties and never see eachother again. Move onto someone else so you can torture them.

    Here's mine

    Dear Writer's Block, It's not you, it's me.....I take that back, it really is you. Don't get me wrong, you've had your blank page in my face at some crucial parts of our relationship but we both knew it wouldn't last. Yes, I'm back with Muse and feeling more inspired than ever. Don't look at me like that, we were never an exclusive item, I knew of your other exploits, other writer's you teased and mocked while they try to look the other way. I'm not your first and will certainly not be your last. My leaving is a good thing. I hope you understand. I'm sure we'll see each other from time to time but let's keep our distance, shall we? Oh, Muse is waiting, gotta go!
